Earns Four CMA Ontario Awards Nominations
New Single “Springsteen” Out Today

Rising Canadian country artist Jessica Sevier will make her UK debut at the British Country Music Festival on September 6, 2026, in Blackpool, UK. The performance marks the first time Sevier brings her music overseas, adding an exciting international milestone to her rapidly growing career.
Following the success of her singles “Good to Drive” and “Panic Years,” Sevier continues to establish herself as one of Canada’s most promising and distinctive country voices. This week she earned four nominations at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards, including Single of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Breakthrough Artist of the Year, further cementing her reputation as a rising star in Canadian country music.
In new music news, Sevier returns with her heartfelt new single “Springsteen,” released today via The Orchard.
Inspired by her lifelong love of Bruce Springsteen and her own experiences with mental health and depression, the song reflects on how music can carry us through life’s toughest moments.
“It’s no secret that I am the biggest Bruce Springsteen fan; I even have his handwritten lyrics to Born to Run tattooed on my arm,” Sevier said. “When I was in high school, my dad gave me his cassette collection, and one of them was The River. I played that tape constantly during one of the hardest periods of my life. I truly believe that his music helped save me.”
The idea for the song was sparked by Stephen Wilson Jr. ‘s “Year to Be Young (1994),” particularly a line that captured Sevier’s own experience of lying on the bedroom floor with headphones on, letting music do the healing.
“I’d grab my dad’s old cassette with ‘The River’ on it, a pair of headphones and a spot on the floor, every word, every line I’d hold on for dear life prayin’ nobody came through that door.”
Written in a session with Ron Lopata and Andrew Allen, “Springsteen” blends piano-driven melodies with deeply personal storytelling.
“This song is for anyone who needs it,” Sevier explains. “It’s not just for Springsteen fans, your ‘Springsteen’ could be anything, whatever it is that helped you get through tough times, that’s your ‘Springsteen’.”
The new single offers a preview of Sevier’s debut EP, Wild Wild Woman, slated for release this summer. The Toronto-based singer-songwriter draws on her own life experiences—from navigating toxic relationships to recovering from a serious horseback riding accident—to create songs that are honest, raw, and empowering.
Collaborators Serena Ryder and Hill Kourkoutis helped Sevier shape the project, while Sevier maintained a clear artistic vision, blending influences from country, roots, Americana, rock, and R&B.
Sevier will also hit the road throughout 2026, with confirmed performances at Departure Festival and NXNE, along with additional UK show dates to be announced soon.
