For readers meeting you for the first time, how would you introduce yourself and your journey so far?
I am a movement artist and fitness professional with over 14 years of experience. My journey has been a fusion of discipline and creativity, transitioning from a passionate dancer to a certified fitness coach, group instructor, and professional model. It has been a path of constant evolution, moving across borders and industries to inspire others to move with purpose.

Where did you grow up, and how did your early background help shape the person you are today?
Growing up, I was surrounded by a culture that values resilience and expression. My early years taught me that movement is a universal language. The challenges I faced as a young person shaped my empathy as a coach today, helping me understand that everyone starts somewhere and needs support to find their voice.

What role did fitness, dance, or performance play in your life growing up?
Dance was my first love; it was my therapy and my strength. Fitness eventually became the foundation that supported my performance. Together, they were not just hobbies, they were the tools that helped me build confidence and connect with my community during my formative years.

You became a certified Zumba® Instructor in 2012. What drew you to Zumba, and what has kept you passionate about it over the years?
What drew me to Zumba was the “fitness party” concept, but what keeps me passionate is its power to create a peaceful, friendly connection between people of all nationalities through dance. It is incredibly rewarding to teach my students self-love and confidence alongside fat-burning workouts. I love that in my class, age, gender, and physical condition do not matter, everyone is welcome to move, improve their mental health, and find joy in a judgment-free environment.

As an AFAA-certified professional, how important is proper training and education when building a long-term fitness career?
Education is the backbone of longevity. Being AFAA-certified means I prioritize safety and science. In this industry, passion gets you started, but proper training ensures you can guide others for decades without injury or burnout.

You’re also an ISSA Personal Trainer. How do you tailor training programmes for clients with different goals and lifestyles?
Every body is a unique story. I look at a client’s lifestyle, stress levels, and history. Whether the goal is fat loss or gaining strength, I tailor the programme to be sustainable, not just intense. A workout must fit into your life, not dominate it.

What are some of the most common mistakes people make when starting their fitness journey?
The biggest mistake is doing too much, too soon. Many people chase perfection instead of consistency. They wait for motivation, but success in fitness comes from building small, daily habits that stick even on days when motivation is low.

As a NASM Group Fitness Trainer, what do you enjoy most about leading classes in a group environment?
As a NASM instructor, I thrive on the collective energy of a group. There is a “tribe effect” where everyone pushes harder because of the person next to them. I integrate this high energy with carefully curated music and a diverse set of movements in every session. This dynamic combination keeps the atmosphere fresh and significantly boosts my students’ motivation, making every class a unique experience.

How do you keep participants motivated and energised during a challenging workout session?
I use a combination of powerful music, eye contact, and positive reinforcement. I remind my participants why they started and help them find that extra 10 per cent of strength they did not know they had.

In your experience, what makes group fitness so effective for both physical and mental wellbeing?
Physically, it is about accountability. Mentally, it is about community. Group fitness reduces the feeling of isolation and releases endorphins that combat stress, making it as much a therapy session as a workout.

You’ve combined dance and fitness throughout your career. Why do movement and music make such a powerful combination?
Music is the heartbeat of movement. It dictates the rhythm of the soul. When you align a beat with a physical challenge, the brain forgets the effort and focuses on the feeling. That is where the breakthrough happens.

Tell us about the vision behind Mahdance Team and what makes it unique.
Mahdance was created to bridge the gap between technical dance and fitness. Our team consists of talented dancers and athletes who perform various dance styles with high energy and a positive vibe, striving for professional performances and a collective sense of wellbeing. As the leader and coach, I am proud to have a team that supports me and shares this passion. Our goal is to promote fitness and health through the fusion of dance and music from different countries and cultures, celebrating global diversity.

As a dance instructor, how do you help students build confidence as well as technique?
I focus on small wins. By breaking down complex techniques into manageable steps, students feel a sense of mastery. When they realize their body can do what they once thought impossible, their confidence soars.

What has been one of your proudest moments as a choreographer?
My proudest moment is always seeing a group of diverse dancers move as one during a final performance. Seeing my vision come to life through their bodies and feeling the audience’s reaction is the ultimate reward.

As a dance performer, what do you love most about being on stage?
On stage, I feel most alive. It is the one place where time stands still. I love the silent conversation between the performer and the audience—the exchange of energy that happens without a single word.

Performing requires discipline and stamina. How do you prepare mentally and physically before a show?
Mentally, I practise visualization and mindfulness. Physically, it is about strategic fuelling, mobility work, and rest. You have to treat your body like a high-performance machine in the weeks leading up to a show.

You’ve also worked as a model. How has modelling influenced your confidence and personal brand?
Modelling taught me the power of visual storytelling and presence. It refined my ability to present myself professionally and understand the importance of lighting, angles, and the overall vibe of a personal brand.

What lessons has the fashion and modelling world taught you about professionalism and resilience?
The fashion world taught me resilience. You hear “no” a lot before you hear “yes.” It taught me that professionalism showing up on time, being prepared, and staying adaptable, is what separates a hobbyist from a professional.

As an actor, what attracts you most to performing in front of the camera?
I am deeply attracted to the intimacy of the camera, but more importantly, I love the opportunity to portray roles I have never experienced before. Acting allows me to inhabit a body and a persona for the first time, exploring facets of the human experience that are entirely new to me. I am passionate about the challenge of bringing new characters to life and stepping into unfamiliar worlds.

With so many professional titles, how do you balance fitness training, performing, and creative projects?
It is all about synergy. I do not see them as separate tasks; my fitness training supports my dance stamina, and my modelling experience helps my stage presence. I prioritize my projects based on seasons and stay organized through strict time management.
