Toronto’s Own Fashion Week

The Spring/Summer designer collections are strutting their stuff on the runway at Toronto’s Own Fashion Week. The bustling season of events brings together crowds eager to cheer on Canadian talent. While the big name financiers and mainstream promoters often overlook Canada’s fashion industry in favor of more widely publicized international events, there’s a silver lining: these local shows are super accessible for everyone. This creates a vibrant community that thrives on the grassroots of design and fashion. The energy is palpable as enthusiastic fans, fashion supporters, and industry pros fill the venues, united by their love for style. Let’s not forget the skilled models, production teams, and dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes, each one plays a vital role in this captivating world.

Toronto’s vibrant Fashion Week is set against the stunning backdrop of the Holy Trinity Church, which sits tucked behind the Eaton Center. This beautiful Gothic Revival church, built around 1847, adds a dramatic flair to the event. Over three exciting days, fashion designers will showcase their latest collections, and there will be an outdoor market at Trinity Square for everyone to enjoy. For some, this will be there first runway experience which is a significant step in their creative mission.

A huge shout-out to the amazing show producers, Ion Sobaliu (@ion.billion) and Sadaf Emami (@sadafem) from RCHIVE (@rchive), for allowing us at TorontoPages magazine to be a part of this fabulous experience. We couldn’t be more thrilled to support the incredible Canadian fashion scene alongside you! So, let’s get into the show.

BONE AND BUSK
We’re thrilled witness the unveiling of the latest bridal collection from Katharina Mior and her talented team, titled ‘Usque Ad Mortem’. It’s been quite a journey with some challenges along the way, but like any great sailor, Katharina has navigated through the storms with resilience. Now, as the skies clear, the team is grounding their focus back on their roots and boldly moving forward. Instead of waiting for the old days to return, they’re charting their own course into the future.
What was Katharina’s inspiration? “….I wanted to pay homage to my culture through the fantastic silhouettes of the Carnavale di Venezia, the whimsy of Commedia Dell’Arte and the tension between an oppressive religious institution’s influence and the humble culture that celebrates irreverence, art, craftsmanship and modernity.”
Katharina certainly has more to give and we will be keeping an eye out.

Mackenzie Cripps
Get ready to experience the exciting debut runway show of designer Cripps, showcasing her collection titled “Skin”. This marks her first runway appearance since graduating from the fashion program at Seneca Polytechnic in 2025. Cripps brings her unique creative flair to the world of streetwear, with a touch of grunge that adds an edgy vibe.
The inspiration behind “Skin” explores the feeling of being trapped or confined within one’s own body. The designs cleverly blend elements of hard restraint with soft fabrics, creating a striking contrast. Picture textures that evoke the sensation of sewn hide, fur, feathers, and, of course, skin, all adorned with metallic studs and stunning decorations that perfectly accentuate the street style. It’s a collection that promises to turn heads and spark conversations.
